Frequently Asked Physiotherapy Questions

  • The typical appointment follows a sequence of assessment, treatment & rehabilitation. During the assessment we will make it crystal clear what we believe your problem is & how we plan to resolve it. Treatment & rehabilitation will be very engaging with our primary aim being that you leave with confidence and reassurance how to achieve your goals.

After your appointment you will be sent a follow up email containing videos and details of all your exercises so you have no doubts that you are doing the wrong thing between appointments.

  • Typically you will feel absolutely fine, and have clarity on what your problem is and how to resolve it!

Occasionally you may feel a little sore for a few days after your session, particularly if you’ve worked muscles that haven’t been worked for a while or if you needed a lot of hands on treatment in the first session. If that’s the case, please continue with your exercises and it will settle down within 48 hours.

Sometimes, depending on the treatment you received, you may have slight bruising. If that’s the case please don’t panic – it’s just your body’s response to some of the hands on treatment and will disappear within a few days.

If you have any worries or questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

We actually find these appointments to be as, if not more effective than in-person appointments because it enables you to take ownership of your recovery rather than feeling you 'need' hands-on treatment which is extremely empowering for you.
